CHINA FOCUSED DESIGN TASK
Designed to explore collaboration opportunities and a study into modern Y2K visual languages
Urban artist Zinan Lam grew up learning and drawing traditional chinese art from his dad. When he lived in Guangzhou a lot of his friends were into hip hop and the skate scene where he soon developed his unique personal taste in combining traditional chinese art with street culture shown through sculptures, graffiti, and mixed media visual art.

The collection of sneakers in partnership with Zinan Lam utilizes his special graffiti technique in gradients. These are also elements of traditional chiense art featuring modern street culture shown through accessories, model selection, as well as Zinan’s personal graphic. Each sneaker caries a symbol: The process of creation in Zinan’s world where inspirations were taken from his daily gears- such as respirators and psray paints.
